Een veelbelovend nieuw tijdperk breekt aan voor de Professional Darts Corporation nadat de PDC bekend maakte vanaf nu exclusief gebruik te gaan maken van Winmau dartborden voor een record brekende periode van vijf jaar.
De grootste deal van zijn soort in de geschiedenis van de sport zorgt ervoor dat de Winmau Blade 6 Triple Core gebruikt zal worden in alle PDC-toernooien tot aan 2027. Deze deal gaat komende donderdagavond al van start op de openingsavond van de Cazoo Premier League in Cardiff.
Als extra toevoeging aan de deal als officiële materiaalsponsor van de PDC, zal Winmau ook de sponsor worden van opkomende talenten in de dartssport. Dit doen ze door de Challenge Tour, de Development Tour en het World Youth Championship te sponsoren.
Winmau was al een partner van de PDC's dochterbond, de JDC en sponsorde ook al vele professionele darters, zoals Michael van Gerwen, Joe Cullen, Daryl Gurney, Simon Whitlock, Steve Beaton en Vincent van der Voort.

Door de nieuwe deal wordt de Winmau Blade 6 Triple Core nu gebruikt tijdens de TV-toernooien, de European Tour, Players Championship toernooien, de Challenge Tour, de Development Tour en de Women's Series voor de komende vijf jaar.
Het bord werd in 2021 voor het eerst aan de wereld getoond en is uniek in zijn soort. Het bord bestaat uit drie lagen sisal en geeft de zesde generatie Blade-dartborden de ultimate speelervaring.
Het bord zal een kleine uiterlijke verandering ondergaan, het PDC-logo zal worden toegevoegd aan de voorkant van het bord.

Winmau werd opgericht in 1946 door ex-Sargeant Major Harry Kicks, die het bedrijf vernoemde naar zijn vrouw Winifred Maud, de naam werd toen uitgesproken als ''win-more''.
Winmau kwam voor het eerst op de markt met een Blade-dartbord in 1997. In de laatste 25 jaar werd het bord continu verbeterd door de nieuwste technologieën toe te blijven passen, wat resulteerde in de fenomenale Winmau Blade 6 Triple Core Carbon.
