Fallon Sherrock heeft de dartswereld op z'n kop gezet door in de eerste ronde van het William Hill World Darts Championship te winnen van Ted Evetts, en dat op te volgen door Mensur Suljovic te verslaan in ronde 2.
Na deze twee overwinning op het WK is Sherrock uitgenodigd om op 5 en 6 juni deel te nemen aan de U.S. Darts Masters in het Hulu Theater op Madison Square, New York.
De 25-jarige Engelse schreef geschiedenis door de eerste vrouw te zijn die een wedstrijd wist te winnen op het WK van de Professional Darts Corporation op dinsdag. Ze versloeg Ted Evetts met 3-2. Op zaterdag volgde ze deze overwinning op door de als elfde geplaatste Mensur Suljovic met 3-1 te verslaan in de tweede ronde.
Dit haalde wereldwijd alle media en daarom heeft de PDC besloten dat Sherrock het mag opnemen tegen namen als Michael van Gerwen in de U.S. Darts Masters wanneer de World Series voor het eerst New York aandoen.
Nog acht Noord-Amerikaanse qualifiers zullen deelnemen aan het toernooi. Sherrock wordt hiermee de eerste vrouw ooit die meedoet aan een World Series of Darts toernooi.
